My first Teauxd Cheauxker...... By \\\"The Wife\\\"

The Wife decided she wanted to write something about the Teauxd Cheauxker. Dont worry, she`s not taking over my account.......yet!

Motorcycles have always been something that kind of intimidated me. Actually owning one was not something I ever imagined. Having watched shows featuring some of the “less than savory” variety of biker, I was really nervous about attending the T.C. I found out that, like most things in the world, life does not imitate art.

I was really excited for the trip part, but anxious about meeting so many new people. Quallze and I spent several weeks discussing the types of people that are members of the web-site. He talked you all up very nicely, but I still had some reservations.

Getting to go several hundred miles as a “rubber necker” sounded like a load of fun. And as it turns out, I was right. The first day on the road was sunny, but windy. The second day on the road started out all right, but then rained. Hard. By the end of the weekend, I had experienced just about everything that Mother Nature had to dish out. It was a fantastic way to be “Baptized”!

The first person to introduce themselves was Paul (paulinokc). It was one of the warmest greetings I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience. He told me later that this trip was “no Princess Cruise”. To which I responded, “whoever told you I was a princess, lied”.

The rest of the group that we rode into Shreveport with, were the warmest, funniest and just downright nicest people I’ve ever had the honor of spending time with. I would like to thank you all (individually) for a most enjoyable fist experience. Will & Chrissy, Cliff & Jackie, Tony & Michealeen, Larry & Dixie, Paul & Donna, Clayton & and Holly, Roger & Kat, Raymond, Hunter, Doug, Clint, Willard, Scooter, Conrad, John. Ya\'ll give me a warm and fuzzy feeling.................................. in my heart. ;)

Aint gonna make it.... M&G V that is!

After Vahnia and I got back from the TC all we've been talkin about is how much fun we had and how are we gonna be able to go to the M&G. Unfortunately we came to the conclusion that we arnt gonna make it.
I havent been at my job long enough to have vacation days and there no way the schedule can been rearranged for me to get 8-10 days off. We also sat down and figured the approximate cost of this trip and right now we just can't afford it. For a trip like this, I dont want to be on a tight budget.
So it is with great sarrow that I have to say The Wife and I wont be attending the M&G.

However, if anyone in the Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Nebraska area interested in having some lunch runs..... we're there!

Everyone stay safe out there and we'll seen ya'll soon somewhere down the road!

Made it back.....

to the land of flat! Had a great ride with Larry and Dixie on Sunday.

"The Wife" (Vahnia) had a great time (she wont shut up about it now). She was very nervious about meeting a bunch of strangers but quickly realized there were no strangers, just family she hadn't met yet!

Before the TC there was no-way Vahnia and I were going to go to the M&G, but now she's trying to help me figure out how we can both make the trip! Time will tell.

Total miles for the trip.................1267
Total fuel for the trip....................96.00
The total fun Vahnia and I had....PRICELESS
The friendships we made............AWESOME

Thank You Cliff and Jackie for the great food.
Thank You Will for starting this website.
Thank You to everyone else for making Vahnia and I apart of this family!

TC bound

Well we made it to our first stop for the nite. Wife and I decided to head out ahead of schedule a get a room for the nite in Pryor, OK.

Pretty uneventful trip so far. My vista cruise works great. Up and out the door early 2maro to head to Mineola, TX to spend the nite with my wife's grandfather. She hasnt seen him in about a year so that will be nice.

Anyway, hope everyone is having a safe trip!

Through my Wife's eyes...

The wife and I went to Springfield, Mo. today, Here are her observations of the trip...

I heard the weather report, 40% chance of rain, and thought, “Hot damn! Let’s get the bike out!” I needed some rain gear, so thought we should go all the way to Bass Pro in Springfield to get it. I mean, what better place, right? Never mind if we should get rained on along the way! So I spent the next 30 mins. trying to figure out how all this crap was supposed to go on. Finally ready, we pulled away from the house at 8:30 a.m. Took the scenic route, and boy was there scenery!

Let me start by saying that I have ridden on the bike often, but never for a very long distance. Total miles today, 440. And my butt feels every one of them! A shot out to the hubby for getting me Transformer II floorboards (FABULOUS), a real knee saver! Still had to take some ibuprofen for sore joints (aren’t I too young for that?).

From Burlington, to Fort Scott, not a lot to look at. Certainly nothing I haven’t seen about a thousand times before. After we got through Fort Scott, though, that all changed. I haven’t ever been that way before, and it was pretty to look at, although there was a truly HORRID smell for about a 2-3 mile stretch. He thinks something died, I think it was turkey-crap fertilizer. Either way, it was a stench that makes that particular section of highway unforgettable.

We stopped in Nevada, MO for lunch (at 10:30 a.m.) at McDonald’s (mmmm, chicken nuggets). Really though, the store itself was pretty nice. After we “lunched”, we headed east out of town towards Collins. Again, some nice scenery, but what I found noteworthy was a little spread called “Hill Billy Heaven”. No joke. There were some pretty scary looking places to the east of said spread, but with spring in full swing, maybe something will spout to cover them.
