Hello Members!

Wow... time is flying by and our Meet & Greet is coming up quickly! If you plan on joining us, but haven't yet signed up on our website, please do so when you have an opportunity.

I am in the process of restructuring the 2009 Meet & Greet page to make it a little easier to follow.

I have some exciting news! Yamaha has taken notice of our group and wants to participate in our Meet & Greet! Join us June 10th at 5pm at Mountain Motorsports located at 3422 Adventure Lane, Kodak, TN. Yamaha will be footing the bill for a BBQ dinner (still pending approval). The dinner will be catered by Buddy's BBQ (once approved). The buffet will include BBQ Pork with sauce on the side, baked beans, coleslaw, potato chips, and buns. Iced tea and lemonade will be the beverages available.

We will charge $5 minimum (donate more if you like) per person for dinner, and 100% of these contributions will be donated to the Smoky Mountain Children's Home! Also be prepared to be entertained by one of the leading bluegrass bands in the GA/TN area! A couple of their members are in the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame! The Blue Grass Sound Band will begin playing at 6pm and will wrap things up at 8pm. During their break (around 7pm), I'll make a couple of announcements and invite the representative from the Smoky Mountain Children's Home to say a few words as well.

Before and during dinner, you may bid on silent auction items. Winners will be announced toward the end of the evening. 100% of the proceeds from the silent auction will also be donated to the Children's Home. At the end of the evening, the representative from the Children's home will accept our donation. We will then announce the grand total that was raised from our efforts.

We are limiting the attendees of this dinner to 150 people. Please check http://www.1300tourer.com/bbq ... if you are interested in joining us for this dinner event please follow the directions on that page. Please note that this is a separate registration from the overall Meet & Greet. If you plan on attending this dinner and your name is not on the list, please email me immediately as the 150 slots will fill up quickly. If you are traveling with a spouse or friends, be sure to let me know. Only those on the list will receive dinner tickets. Ok... done rambling. :)

Please also note that we are in the final stages of getting this charity dinner planned. If there are changes to what has been expressed above, follow up details will be included in the next newsletter. I simply want to get this out as early as possible.

I am also preparing to send out some emails looking for items for our silent auction. If you have something that you would like to donate, please let me know. I have invited a representative from the Mountain Press (local daily newspaper) to cover the charity event.

All donations to the Children's Home are tax deductible! If you have already made a contribution please send me an email (wjreece@gmail.com) and I'll send you a contribution report that you can use to claim your donation on your 2009 taxes! This can be used for cash donations as well as fair value of donated items to the silent auction!

We also have a t-shirt pile started for the kids at the children's home. Our goal is 65, and I think currently we sit at 20-25. If you have a new motorcycle related t-shirt you would like to donate, please let me know and I can send shipping information to you. We will be delivering these to the kids during our tour of the home. Thank you to those that have already contributed!

I am in the process of setting up some advertising space on 1300tourer.com that will be offered to those businesses that are interested in sponsoring all or part of the expenses in putting together our 2nd Annual Meet & Greet. If you are interested in reaching a lot of Star 1300 owners, please let me know. March netted over 137,000 page views from the internet at large!

I must apologize... I got in the habit of sending out this newsletter on a regular basis and have slipped a little. I've been spending a lot of time organizing our annual event. Crossing all of the I's and dotting all of the T's can be time consuming. :)

Please ride safely in your travels!

Will R.
