Yamaha 1300 Tourer - Yamaha 1300 Tourer Fansite

As it says, are they safe?

Went to buy one from a custom shop & the fella there (who sells them) told me not to get one as they're dangerous in a crash = traps passenger on the bike!

Not thought of it at the time, but was enough to put me off + figured there must be something in it (unless he didn't want cash!)

Figure a lot of people on here have them so thought I'd ask your opinions.
