Yamaha 1300 Tourer - Yamaha 1300 Tourer Fansite

So I have ready many post about the best set of speakers for the handle bars or helmets. I am looking to get something to listen to music while riding and looking to get some advice on what works best. I wear ear plugs 95% of the time with a full face helmet and don't want to waste money on handle bar speakers if they aren't going to work but am also concerend about not boing able to hear a hemlet speaker at hiway speeds.
I don't like the idea of having headphones in my ear while rideing and would like to have some sort of handle bar mounted volume control to make it easy to turn the music down while going through town without having to reach up to a helmt control or monkey with my iPod.
I have been looking at the cycle sounds system or a helmet system from J&M that has handle bar controls. My wife dosn't ride with me much so an intercom system does not really mater to me at this time.
