Brakeaway cruise control review

I just installed the Brakeaway cruise control and have a few comments. First off, over all I like this product. It looks very nice. Intall was easy. Even over the Kuryakyn ISO grips. Adjusting it to work perfectly was not as easy. I had to move my brake further out toward the end of the bar. Not a big deal but after I had it working perfect I sat on the bike to discover that when I moved the brake I also had tilted it down too far for my tastes. So, Back to square one. I had to start all over again. This time I had a bind and the throttle would not return freely. I got the the bind out and then the lock would not engage. I fixed the lock then the lock would not hold the throttle in position. See where this is going? Finally after fiddleing around with it and loosening and tightening about 6 times I got it adjusted perfectly again. I just took my time and was patient. It was worth the effort. It is so nice too be able to rest my right hand. It is still not as nice as a true cruise control but it will due. There is an art to adjusting your throttle to account for uphill or downhill grades. If someone were to design an affordable nice looking true cruise control for bikes they would make a killing. I prefer the looks of the Brakeaway to the Vista. Plastic and that arm that has to be attached to the other side of switch housing is ugly. Of course 30 dollars verses 190 dollars was a concideration. The looks and the safety factor with the brake shutoff is worth the extra money to me. The brake disengage works like charm and is a no brainer. I find this to be a must have if you due lots of traveling at one constant speed or go long distances. I look forward to waving at you as we pass on the street. I'll be the one waving with my right hand!
