My name is Felix De La Garza; 59 yrs young; wife Vicki, married for 34 yrs; four children, four grand children; served four years in the Marine Corps; work for General Electric Healthcare Systems; looking to retirement in three to five years; really looking forward to more and longer road trips.

Just bought an '07 V-Star 1300 a couple of days ago. Have already put 120mi on her and she is what I expected. A great ride for a mid-size V-Twin. This was my second choice. My first pick was the FJR 1300, but I read and heard so many good things about the V-Star that it came down to which ever one became available first at a good price. The V-Star was meant to be, plus it was the color I preferred; Red.

Now I am searching your forums for some add-ons and replacements. I am 5'6" so I'll be lookng for longer handlebars, better grips, some kind of throttle lock, a tach, running lights, a cover, and some info on how to get a smoother throttle response. There is a wealth of good info in this web site. This should keep me busy for a while. Any helpful hints will be appreciated.
