First of all, this is a great site with lots of info and great people. I'm glad I found it. I made my own lowers today and installed them. Nothing against Bucks, but I really hate paying for something I can make myself. I have access to a full machine shop and while I'm not a trained machinist I have over the years learned how to operate all of the equipment. I can even mig and tig weld but it's not pretty.
I took my bike out for a test ride and the lack of buffeting was great. I did notice that it seemed like more air was hitting the front of my legs. Maybe I'm just now noticing that because of the lack of buffeting to my upper body and helmet. Maybe I just need to make my lowers wider, not sure.
My next project is to move my floorboards forward. I've already looked at them and figured out how. Just need the time to do it.
