Greetings from South Carolina,
Traded in a sport bike for an 2007 V star 1300 a few weeks ago, I feel a wise choice!
I owned my sport bike for 5 years and only put 3500 miles in that time. I loved it but couldn't go very far before I was sore. In less than 1 month on the V star I have over 1000 miles. The only trouble was at my 600 mile service the fuel line got pinched under the gas tank. I now know what it feels like to run out of gas at 65 mph.
I bought the non tourer so I could customize it my way:
Memphis fats quick release windscreen
Memphis fats lowers (not on in the picture)
Yamaha backrest
Saddlemen Highwayman Tattoo bags and tool pouch (tool pouch not in picture)
and more to come, just need to decide what I want next :)
A question about drilling the exhaust: Can I keep the stock air cleaner? Do I need to get a fuel management device for proper fuel mixture or does drilling only effect the sound? Sorry if this is a repeat question. I am slowly reading the forum but I would rather be riding!
