Lovely Snow

We were at our daughter's house for Christmas, arriving in the middle of the afternoon on the 24th. We had a wonderful Christmas eve opening presents and watching the little ones Christmas morning was great. We had planned on driving home Saturday, but the highways were closed or travel was, at the very least, greatly discouraged. So we hung around until after breakfast Sunday and drove home. This is what we found when we got here.
I was able to break through a couple of smaller drifts and got about halfway up the drive. I had no intention of trying to get through this drift.
The angle of the picture really doesn't do the drift justice. The peak is about 5' tall at he left end and it runs about 44 feet diagonally across the widest part of the drive.

We couldn't get in the front door and the back door looked pretty much the same, so it took about 30 minutes to get into the house.

I guess it could have been worse. At least we didn't suffer any storm damage. One additional bright spot was that there was a message from the postmaster, my mustang seats had arrived there on Saturday.

All in all, we had a great Christmas with both of our children and our 3 grandchildren and we all traveled safely.
