My 08, 1300T recently hit 41K miles, (I purchased it new in May of 09) and I haven't been happier with it or any bike I've ever had. (I'm hoping my photo will upload.) Anyway... I've added Big Bars, Memphis Shades Batwing fairing, painted to match, and Bucks lowers along with a few other trinkets.
I have a Metzler Marathon on the front and I went to the dark side 14k miles ago with the General car tire. I've run two of the original Bridgestones on the front before going Metzler. I've also run two Bridgestones on the back, switched to the Dunlop E3 before going to the car tire. The car tire handles great and has great traction.
I had the valves adjusted around 15K and it wasn't right. Had them redone around 22K and it has been a quiet and great running bike ever since.
I'm shopping around and considering going with a Victory Cross Country or Vision as my next mount... Those are the only bikes that I would be willing to trade for so far. I've ridden the Harley Electraglide (Wasn't impressed that much.) and the Yamaha Stratoliner Deluxe. (Which I like.) I've even considered buying another 1300, but I want hard fairing lowers and better weather protection along with heated seats and grips.
I can't say enough good about the 1300T. It has plenty of power... downshift to third and run it to 90 mph while passing and it feels like something more than a v-twin cruiser. Yamaha did a good job on this one.
Just wanted to share this to everyone and to any prospective buyers.
Keep the rubber side down and ride hard!
