New Thread, Tires

After a week of internet searching I really haven't found anything to buy for replacement tires for our bikes. But, just to save other owners time, here are a few links I've discovered.
Here's a link to Underbid, selling a Bridgestone 170-70-16 for $107.

and the front 130-90-16 for $78

I wasn't impressed with the prices. If our stock tires are that cheap, I think they need to be replaced, ASAP. But, can you mix a radial rear with a bias-poly on the front? Most of the tire stores say no. Can you mount a Goldwing 180/70-16 on our 170/70-16 rim? I don't know. Neither does my dealer. That's important, because I'll buy replacement tires through my dealer. I mean, I ain't gonna mount 'em!
BoomerSooner showed us this link, and the Metzeler 880 Marathons have a good rep.

METZELER 130/90B-16 M/C 73H ME880, for $140 bias-poly
METZELER 180/70R-16 M/C 77H for $180 radial
Here's the only radial I've found that specifically fits our rear rim: Its a Dunlop.

I have NOT found a radial front tire to go with any of these. I wrote Dunlop a nice email and requested they make a matched set of radials for our bike.
Avon has a good reputation. The only tire that fits (maybe) is: the 180/70-16

Here's a cheap way to break the bead on a motorcycle tire: What a hoot!

Have you heard about using nitrogen in your tires?

My dealer now offers nitrogen.
Anyway, tire replacement is something we will all have to do, sooner or later. Personally, I think its the most important money we will spend.
Smooth roads!
