Finally had some time to drop a line letting you all know that the Missus and I made it home from the M&G without any problems. We had extra time to spend and went the looooooong way home. Our 1300 performed spectacularly the whole way. The DS tire (Altimax) got 4454 miles put on it and still looks brand new. I'm sold on that tire. Also very happy with the performance of the Shell Rotella T6 oil during the trip. I have been and still am in love with my 1300. We also pulled my Piggybacker trailer during this trip and I can't say enough good things about it as well. What one loses in MPG's (about 3mpg) is more than made up for in convenience and comfort. Thankfully I carried lots of foul weather gear because I really needed it in Canada. Right, Cliff? Carried camping gear as well so that Kat and I could go tenting a night or two on the way home. That is really fun on a bike. As with the DS tire, I'd also heartily recomment the trailer setup. It's the way to go for long distance cruising.
Can't say enough how much fun we had in New York and are already looking forward to Jackson Hole next year on our 1300, of course.
