A shot of the citizens of Royse City, Texas lined up to honor my son's best friend, Spc. Jerod Heath Osborne. He was a combat medic with the Army and was killed by an IED in Afghanistan. The family honored me by asking me to photograph Heath's arrival by private jet and escort to the funeral home. The escort consisted of an awesome number of police, fire and Patriot Guard riders and was incredibly touching, but passing through Royse City and seeing the people lined up to honor this young man, most of whom didn't even know him, was a truly magical moment.
