Yamaha 1300 Tourer - Yamaha 1300 Tourer Fansite

I recently got a set of passenger floor boards and brakets. Thanks to the how to section was able to install them with no problem. The problem I did have was the boards slanted away from the bike. When my wife put her boots on them her ankle was at an angle away from the bike. I got new brakets and the same problem but not as bad. I put sheet metal shims on the lower part of the bracket and that forced and floorboards up and level. Did anyone else have this problem and what did they do to fix it? Don't like the shims as they are just taped in place and look mickey mouse but they do work. Thanks.
