Yamaha 1300 Tourer - Yamaha 1300 Tourer Fansite

Just a question, I haven't been on a long trip, just 4 or 5 hours. I was just wondering, is it the ride to get to where you are going that is the best part or when you get there? It seems like it would be pretty hard getting there especially if there was traffic or rain. In your memory, just what is it that you liked or disliked about the "TRIP"? How did your bike do and what would have made it better? I am thinking about going to Gatlinburg in Sept. Should I go on back roads or use the Freeway? I live in north Alabama and it would take about 4 hours to get there if I used the freeway but I don't think I will unless I have to. I was also thinking of going to Lansing MI. after that. Thanks.
