Yamaha 1300 Tourer - Yamaha 1300 Tourer Fansite

My Mrs decided she wants to ride with me a lot these days and there was'nt much room on my little Sportster. I sold her (the Sporty not the wife) a couple of weeks ago and found a slighty used (900mi) 09 1300 Tourer in blue & silver. The wife is much happier now. I am finding hte Star to be much more agile than expected and am starting to wear down my footboards. The windshield was too tall for me and is now for sale being replaced by a MS batwing with a 12in shield and side deflectors. It's now in the paint shop being painted to match our bike. How often do you guys and gals out there adjust your valves? The recomended 4000mile interval seems a bit excessive to me. I also have in my garage a mint 1978 Yamaha XS 650 Special with only 5000 miles on it.
