Sena SMH10 intercom system

I just bought the Sena smh10 intercom bike to bike system. Today was the first day Luke and I got to try it out. It's a wee bit more than the Cardo Scale teamset but I'm hoping it's worth it.
Here's a review by a guy that has tested most of them. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-intercoms/sena-smh10-intercom/
Personally I haven't used one before so I didn't know exactly what to expect or have anything to compare it to.
I found that there was a bit of wind noise, but we are riding motorcycles, so that's not unexpected. It wasn't enough to bother me.The range is stated to be 900 meters under ideal conditions. I'd say that's about right. We did test it. I wear a 3/4 helmet and could hear Luke loud and clear. He could hear me loud and clear once I found that I had the mike too close. It was causing my voice to distort by having it too close. That's another thing. Most of the time, 50% volume is more than enough. Our biggest problem was when we stopped and powered them up again to get them to communicate. I think we need to go back and read the manual again. You can have up to four channels by pressing the jog dial. We had to keep pressing until we got comm. Like I said, we need to read the manual again. I think after we've used them again and read the manual we'll have it sorted out.
All in all I'm fairly impressed. It was great having comm. and being able to let him know about upcoming turns and roadkill in the middle of the road and just general talking.
