
I know my friends in the south are into football and basketball [invented by a Canadian, by the way :-)].
There is also an annual hockey rite of passage [sort of like your football bowl games] that takes place over the Christmas break. It is the Junior hockey world championship and includes teams from all over the world.
With heavy heart, I must report that the US just beat Canada 6 to 5 in overtime to win the Gold Medal, the symbol of junior hockey supremacy. G-r-r-r-r!
Our boys fought back form a two goal deficit with 3 minutes remaining in regulation to send it to overtime, but …. :-(
