Yamaha 1300 Tourer - Yamaha 1300 Tourer Fansite

I was just wondering, I only have a carport, so do I need to do anything to winterize my bike to keep anything from freezing? My girlfriend said I couldn't keep it in the house!! (I wasn't going to take it bed or anything,,geeze,,) Anyway, I was wondering if I need to get the tires off the pavement or just put a board under them?
