This is in reference to that annoying CLUNK alot of v star 1300 owners are experiencing. Going over bumps, a loud clunk in the front end.
Well, after research by Morg (Morg of keywest fame), :>), he found out that replacing the front springs (in the forks), with progressive springs IS the fix/repair.
I'm here to tell you for around 80 bucks (total with shipping), from S&S cycle, (parts in stock), you can remove that annoying clunk yourself.
The job itself is a piece of cake. If I wasn't so fussy, (and was doing it flatrate), I could of finished the install in probably half an hour or less.
If you've ever done a spring install (R&R) before, THIS one has to be one of the easiest by far. NOT alot of spring pressure (like little or none), NOT messy, NOT a lot of parts to screw up, just a simple R&R, and no more clunk.
My .002
(highly recommended mod). You may not appreciate it like the visual CHROME stuff we do, but the lack of hearing that CLUNK over bumps/potholes/speed bumps is well worth the upgrade.
Again, IMHO
