Good morning everyone,
I wanted to create a place where motorcycles don't necessarily need to be the topic of conversation. All topics are ok, just please keep it clean and civil.
Thanks!

I took an IQ test today. Found out that I don't need a helmut afterall. :)

I know just enough to be dangerous.

Just ordered my first set of goodies for the 1300 yesterday. Figured it was about time to get the girl ready for full-time riding season.
On order are:
I had VH Straights on the Volusia and man she was LOUD!, Momma said I could not go as loud this time, so I saved some money and went with the Slip-On.
I will post some pics once I have the new items in and on. As usual Shane is the man and hooked me up with some good advice and great prices on the items I wanted. Thanks Shane!

Anybody up for a lunch meet up in the Kansas area on Wednesday (02/01) or Thursday (02/02)? Im willing to ride pretty much anywhere with-in reason for a meet up. I live about 60 miles south of Topeka, so anything with-in 200 miles one way im up for!
Gotta take advantage of this nice wether while we got the chance!

This past Monday I ordered the Chubby Air Kit and a set of Cobra Deluxe Classic Slashcuts pipes for Jackie's 1100 V Star from Shane over at S&S Customs, they arrived on Friday to my front door, what service. Also thanks goes out to Shane for helping get the right jets for her particular bike and putting them out for me in separate bags within the package, I didn't have to go searching around the order for the correct sizes, he did it for me! He also, highlighted the correct settings I needed to make on the instructions to further help me and make it easier. Literally, service 2nd to none..above and beyond.
Now tomorrow, I'll start putting this stuff on the bike which will I'm sure prove to be an eventful day, seeing I've never done any of this myself before. I feel very confident though with the instructions given and Shane's expertise at my fingertips if needed I can pull this off. I also have a Wolo horn to install and a jardine oil filter relocation kit to install, like I said, should be an eventful day.
Honestly I'm writing this to thank Shane for his professionalism in running a top notch business and urge everyone to give him a call if you need something, you won't regret it!
Wish me luck,
Cliff
Update: All was going well, pretty easy disassemble so far, carbs are out now and thats where the problem started. The screws holding the cover over the float and jets will not come off. I've never seen screws in so tight in my life. Unfortunately, I stripped the first and then broke the screw extractor in the screw, to say I am pi$$$$$ is an understatement. I tried a couple of others but didn't strip them. Now I gotta take it to the yamaha shop and see if they got a solution, who would have guessed this would be the problem, unbelievable and i'm so close to having the carbs finished I can taste it, oh well, we'll get it out today somehow. Honestly, so far its been so easy a caveman could have done it but now i need Superman.
